Monitored Visits and Supervised Exchanges

Reasons for Monitored/Supervised Visits: TRO's issued, Abduction, Parent absent for months/years, Child endangerment allegations, Alcohol/drug abuse allegations. Visits are monitored by a therapist.

Reasons for supervised exchanges: Parents are not speaking and unable to be cordial during an exchange., Parents who have unmonitored visits and no contact orders.

Orientation:

Both parents must call for their group orientation. Orientation takes place Monday or Thursday evening. Call 714.447.9024 to schedule your orientation.

Monitored Visit
Visit Protocol:

Non-custodial parent or co-parent arrives 15 minutes early and waits for the child; the other parent drops off the child. When the visit is finished, the non-custodial parent waits 15 minutes after the child is picked up to avoid contact with the other parent.

Visits with Monitor:

Typically one to two hours weekly. Notes are taken at the visits. Reports sent prior to court hearing. Debriefing with counselor in the fifteen minutes after the visits.
